Estimating 3D turbulence from laser imaging

A live walk-through of the WindDensity-MBIR pipeline. Use the controls below to adjust the measurement geometry and reconstruction parameters, and watch the reconstruction capture turbulence distortion over the central region of interest.

The solution

The panel above lays out the goal and the obstacle we face. Tomography is the answer: probe the volume from several angles with multiple lasers, reconstruct it with model based iterative reconstruction, then read off the integrated distortion over the central region.
